My name is Mike I’m an RA in Langmuir college in H-Quad. I’m a Biochem major. I am a sophomore here at Stony Brook. So we just had a Teaching Kitchen and we made granola bars with maple syrup as the binder. I wanted us to have an experience cooking because a lot of students actually don’t come into college knowing how to cook. I thought this would’ve been a good experience. Especially because H has a cooking building. I thought it was great! It was like a small style classroom. I think people learn best in that type of environment. It was really nice having like a head chef from CulinArt here to actually help and explain to us. A lot of people just they don’t really see the people behind the scenes which is really nice to actually get that experience. Definitely would like to have another event like this in the future. Maybe more actually because there was a lot of interest. Maybe like two next semester. I think a lot of people would love it. So, I’d definitely like to have it again.
